Having started in 1996, the V Festival is now firmly established as one of the best seasonal music festivals hosting over 180,000 visitors in two venues. Dataflow were invited to prepare a registration site to coordinate the attendance of about 1,200 VIP guests.
The solution and key site features
Fully styled site, designed to create a ‘buzz’ around the event for a select group of Virgin Media’s guests. Obviously the site had to tie in with both the Virgin and V Festival branding.
Additional information pages – In addition to the registration pages, this microsite delivered a number of additional pages providing information about travel arrangements, the venue and facilities.
Barcoding with the joining instructions. To keep track of arrivals on the day, each guest was asked to come with either a printed barcode that had been sent to them, or have this available on their smart phones. This was scanned on arrival. In certain cases for top VIP’s an automatic SMS message was sent to host to inform them of the arrival of their guest.
